The Federal Extortion and Corruption Tax Resistance is dedicated to organizing a peaceful effort to highlight concerns over the political corruption and extortion that currently exists.  We are specifically opposed to our tax dollars being used for the continued erosion of democratic norms and institutions, suppression of civil liberties, and systematic targeting of marginalized groups.

Since January 2025, the Trump administration has engaged in a broad campaign to delay, withhold, cancel, or claw back funding approved by Congress, often violating federal law. This includes both funds allocated before the President’s second term and new funding from the bipartisan March 2025 deal.

 

Estimates suggest that over $410 billion in federal funding has been frozen, canceled, or blocked in court. These actions have affected a wide range of programs, including health care, education, foreign aid, public broadcasting, and the promotion of democracy across the globe.
